Reliance Energy leads gainers in 'A' group

Power utility firm Reliance Energy galloped 8.87% to Rs 1,117.25 and it topped gainers in BSE's A group shares. The stock soared on reports that the company may restructure its businesses under three verticals - utility, infrastructure and real estate.

Private airline Jet Airways jumped 7.28% to Rs 954.65. It came second among top gainers in A group. Jet Airways and Brussels Airlines have launched a frequent flyer programme, which will benefit frequent flyers of both airlines, effective from 18 September 2007. Members of frequent flyer programme can earn and redeem air miles when they fly on the entire Jet Airways network.

Chennai-based Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals moved up 6.93% to Rs 229.15 and came third among top gainers in A group.

IT firm iGate Global Solutions gained 6.65% to Rs 233.40. It was the fourth biggest gainer in A group.

Sterlite Industries, part of UK-based Vedanta Resources, rose 6.48% to Rs 760.30. It was fifth biggest gainer in A group.
