Polaris Software leads gainers in 'A' group

Mid-sized IT firm Polaris Software Lab gained 3.99% to Rs 121.20 and it topped gainers in BSE's A group shares. IT shares bounced back today as rupee weakened against the dollar.

Apollo Tyres moved up 3.80% to Rs 390.20. It was second biggest gainer among A group shares.

HCL Technologies rose 3.80% to Rs 323.80 and stood third among top gainers in A group. As per reports, HCL Tech has dropped out of the race to acquire a 48% stake in Cambridge Solutions – a Bangalore-based Rs 1,200-crore IT and BPO services provider.

Satyam Computer rose 2.63% to Rs 479.40 and came fourth among top gainers in A group. Earlier on 31 July 2007, Satyam Computer had won two multi-million dollar contracts from Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) for its forthcoming events.

Suzlon Energy flared up 2.56% to Rs 1300.25 and was the fifth biggest gainer in A group. Merrill Lynch has maintained buy rating on Suzlon Energy with a target price of Rs 1550.
