Indusind Bank leads gainers in 'A' group

Indusind Bank, the top gainer among A group stocks, climbed up 6.54% to Rs 51.35. Its net profit rose 65% to Rs 13.22 crore on a 30.4% increase in operating income to Rs 495.60 crore in Q1 June 2007 over Q1 June 2006. The bank declared the result on 25 July 2007.

Chambal Fertilizers & Chemicals (CFCL) moved up 6.25% to Rs 37.40, and thereby ranking second biggest gainer in the A group. CFCL's net profit rose 65.93% to Rs 61.71 crore on an 11.72% increase in sales to Rs 595.11 crore in Q1 June 2007 over Q1 June 2006. The company declared the results on 25 July 2007.

A group's third biggest gainer Sobha Developers flared up 4.81% to Rs 778.90. Its net profit surged 141.42 % to Rs 40.8 crore on a 30.87% rise in total income to Rs 269.2 crore in Q1 June 2007 over Q1 June 2006. The company declared the results on 13 August 2007

Axis Bank, previously known as UTI Bank, accumulated 2.80% to Rs 574.65, and was the fourth highest gainer in the A group.

Sun Pharmaceutical's rise by 2.20% to Rs 934.05 took it to the fifth position among the gainers in the A group. The company has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration to make and sell octreotide injection. Octreotide is a generic cancer drug.
